WHP Global and G-III Finalize Marc Jacobs Acquisition
WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group have closed their acquisition of the Marc Jacobs brand from LVMH, ending nearly three decades of LVMH ownership. The two companies formed an evenly split joint venture to co-own the Marc Jacobs intellectual property, with WHP leading global brand licensing and G-III overseeing wholesale, retail, and e-commerce operations. Marc Jacobs will remain founder and creative director, continuing to steer the brand’s collections and creative direction.
Topicals Appoints New CEO
Topicals has named Sukiana Chancy as its new CEO, with founder Olamide Olowe stepping back from the role but remaining involved in day-to-day operations. Chancy joins from Fenty Beauty, where she served as general manager of skin, hair, and fragrance, and previously worked at Cay Skin, Devacurl, and Estée Lauder. Olowe said the brand had reached a scale requiring outside marketing and profit-and-loss expertise, with a goal of becoming Sephora’s top skin-care brand.
YouTube Adds Amazon as Affiliate Partner
YouTube has added Amazon.com as an affiliate partner in YouTube Shopping, allowing creators to tag Amazon products directly in videos and livestreams and earn a commission on resulting sales. YouTube Shopping’s gross merchandise volume grew 13-fold globally from Q1 2024 to Q1 2026, and more than 1 million of the platform’s roughly 3 million monetizing creators now participate in its shopping program.

Quince Tests Physical Retail With Sold-Out Sample Sale
Quince held its first-ever sample sale August 14–15 in San Francisco, drawing a four-block line and selling out six hours early as the brand tests physical retail alongside its digital business. “Quince is not just a place they go to for cashmere sweaters anymore,” said Head of Brand Strategy and Narrative Dakota Kate Isaacs. “It’s a place that they are increasingly building out their lives with.” The $2 billion lifestyle brand sourced the sale from samples used in photo shoots and model fittings, with home goods, sweaters, and coats among the most popular categories across 600 transactions.
