With a body like that at age 50, it’s no surprise that Jennifer Lopez is strict about her diet. Her personal chef, Kelvin Fernandez, just revealed the two foods that the singer and actress under no circumstances will go near.
Fernandez works for both J.Lo and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez. One thing he said the star will never eat is salmon.
“I know Jennifer doesn’t love salmon, so if I’m cooking salmon for the table, I always have to do a sea bass or a halibut or cod for Jennifer,” Fernandez said.
She’s simply just not into it of the texture and the taste.
Fernandez also disclosed that J.Lo hates berries. She keeps them in the house because her 12-year-old twins Max and Emma love them.
“Jennifer is not a big fruit person,” Fernandez said.
So with those two foods banned from her diet, what exactly does she eat?
“Sparkling water, always fruits and vegetables, like strawberries…There’s always greens like spinach, cucumber, and celery to make green juice,” Fernandez said. “They love starting their day with a green juice.”
The family is also big on having eggs and turkey bacon in the morning.
After spending a lot of time with the Lopez-Rodriguez family, the chef has grown weary of making sure of checking with his other clients of their preferences and dietary restrictions.
“I can’t remember the amount of times that I would have to ask over and over again about dietary restrictions and allergies just because you don’t want to mess up, even though you know.”
J.Lo and A-Rod always keep the house stocked with mostly healthy food.
“I think the most important thing is that the pantry is always stocked, the fridge is always stocked. The team does a very good job. I think what the most important thing is Jennifer and Alex love consistency, so the team does a great job following that up.”
Fernandez also said that J.Lo can’t stand having tempting foods in front of her. When she was gearing up for her Super Bowl performance, Fernandez put rice on the table and got called out for it.
“The next day, she’s like ‘Kelvin you served me rice.’ And I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, there was chicken, there was salad. You grabbed the rice!’ From that moment I said, ‘Alright, Jennifer. I’m going to serve you every single plate individually. Do not look at anyone else’s plate. Do not look at what anyone else has,’” Kelvin joked.
